-
The Casita child will stay with the parents during the interview process.
The Children's House child will be invited to work in a classroom with a teacher while the parents remain with the Manager of Admissions.
All Children's House children will attend the Primary Group Interview on Monday, February 28, 2011.
Elementary children will spend at least a day visiting a classroom which will include an interview with the guide.
Acceptance
Acceptance of a child is based on several factors, one of which is a successful match of the family's and the school's educational goals for the child. Siblings of currently qualifying students and children transferring from other Montessori schools are given priority. New applicants are admitted for the remaining spaces, while gender and age balance is maintained within the classrooms. Evaluations, test scores, or grades from the child's recent school, if applicable, also play an important part in the selection process. The first notification of acceptance takes place in mid-March.
Wait Pool
Applicants who have been accepted for all reasons other than space availability will be placed in our wait pool. Families will be notified when a place becomes available.
Admission Policy
Community Montessori School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, nationality, or ethnic origin in its admissions. Admissions are based upon the space available and an evaluation of the suitability of Community Montessori School for each student.
