Parent enrichment and education events are held regularly on a variety of topics; some are classroom oriented and some are open to the entire school. We encourage your attendance, as an understanding of Montessori theory and curriculum enhances your child's development within CMS and your home. Each summer, new parents will be asked to attend two events in particular:
Montessori 101
An introduction to Maria Montessori and her methods and what this philosophy means for each child
CMS 101
An introduction to Community Montessori School and what it offers each family
Also important is the Silent Journey and Discovery through the CMS communities offered during each school year. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend a Silent Journey and Discovery as early in their child's Montessori experience as possible.
Parent enrichment events are also held by the individual guides and at the monthly Morning Coffees.
Service hours are given for parent attendance at education events. Childcare is available.
