Discovering Planet Earth - focus on ecology and environmental consciousness

Thank you to everyone who voted, and to those who expressed interest in volunteering. Your first opportunity to help is at the brainstorming session on Wednesday October 22, at 6:00 PM in the Activity Center. The purpose of this meeting is to provide an open forum in which all CMS members are invited to suggest and discuss ideas about what activities should or should not be included in the Serendipity Festival. We will provide coffee and light snacks (and service hours!). To help stir your creative juices, here are the Serendipity Festival Vision and Goals:

Vision: The Serendipity Festival attracts a large and diverse audience of parents and children by offering a variety of opportunities to experience the joy of learning through discovery.

Goals:

• Build the CMS Community: Facilitate connections among CMS families by working together to promote our vision and the school. This will in turn strengthen their commitment through emotional connection, foster a desire to become involved within the community, and enhance enthusiasm for making financial contributions.
  
• Promote CMS to the Public: Provide non-CMS parents an opportunity to explore the Montessori approach to education by allowing them to learn through discovery (i.e. the campus grounds, the CMS booth). By generating interest and through appropriate follow up we can expand enrollment and external support.
  
• Create an Event to Remember: Make Serendipity fun, friendly, and a good value. It will be an event that people eagerly anticipate each year.
