We are happy to be back and to see the sun today! It was a relief to get through the seriously cold temps we had the past few days without any major mishaps or building issues. I hope all of you fared equally well at home. For those dealing with broken pipes or power outages, please let us know if we can do anything to help! Students were well bundled today and had a brief time outside. Looks like tonight will be another hard freeze but the rest of the week looks to be very pleasant!
KINDNESS WEEK IS COMING
Every year, CMS participates in the Great Kindness Challenge week, which is put on by the Kids for Peace organization. This week we are gearing up!
Kind Coins for Kenyan Kids
This year, CMS is supporting the Kids for Peace "Kind Coins for Kenyan Kids" campaign. We will be collecting coins (and donations) next week and for every $50 we collect, we can sponsor a child to go to the Kids for Peace School in Mikei Kenya. Let's challenge our community to see how many kids we can sponsor! Here's a link to a video describing the project. The CMS Gala is on March 1st, 2024. This parent-led and parent-organized event is the school's main fundraiser for the year. If you are interested in volunteering to help with the event or have a business or item to donate for auction, please click here.
The Gala Committee is also having a Denim Drive this month. We have a box in the office for your denim donations - clean out the drawers and send your old or out grown items onto a new life!
A Warm Welcome!
Please give a warm welcome to two new CMS staff members. Krystalyn Perry and Sky Pulliam are starting with us this week, joining the Elementary Afterschool team. Next week we say farewell to Erin, who will be leaving CMS to pursue an exciting new art opportunity.
