The themes of this week were: conferences with the students, putting together Japan's research for tomorrow's Fall Festival, celebrating Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) through a group presentation of its history, singing and playing instruments.
If your child didn't bring their binder home for you to see the work added from the last conference until now, it's because they have gaps in certain areas and were assigned very specific tasks to accomplish with specific datelines.
We finished our first session of the Junior Great Books and will continue each month to support the children in building their comprehension, discussion and writing skills. We have learnt and practiced creating Haiku poems, creative writing, factors on the peg board, divisibility chapter, areas and volumes of various shapes and solids.
The work that the children created as a community is stunning and we hope that you will be able to stop by on Saturday to see what our student body is capable of! Thank you for lending us several beautiful and unique Japanese artifacts and for volunteering your time at our table!
