We had a wonderful and productive week in the classroom. It is always fascinating to see how the older ones help the younger children. They shared what they have mastered and the knowledge to patiently assist someone who needs extra support. This is the beauty of the Montessori mixed-age group.
This week, we had two new works on the science shelf, color mixing and the sink/float exercise. Children not only be able to see the result of the experiment, they also need to do a proper set up and clean up. I am so proud of them. Those exercises are also fun to do at home, using food colorings or watercolors to see how to create more colors with only primary colors (red, blue and yellow). Or go on a nature walk to see how many little things you can collect then do a sink and float experiment afterwards.
