Hope you had a great and relaxing weekend. This week, we had a new zoology work - life cycle of a chicken. We learned male chicken is called a rooster and female is called a hen. A hen lays about 1-2 eggs a day. It takes about 21 days for the fertilized eggs to hatch. The hatching uses its "egg tooth" to break the egg shell. The chick has yellow feathers at first and then changes its feathers around 5 months old and looks more like its mother. On average (with no predator attack), a hen can live up to 7 years and a rooster can live up to 10 years. It was a fun lesson. If you visit a farm or have a chance to see some chickens, this will be a great conversation with your child.

We continue to practice linear counting 1- 60 in class and work on which words start with a,c, m, p and t. Please continue to play with "I spy..." Game with your child with those beginning sounds, such as a -apple, c - cat, m -mop, p- pot and t -turtle. There are many other words you can use to play this game.

The parent conference sign up will be up soon. I will send a separate sign up email.
