Dear Families,

This week, the children enjoyed walking on the ellipse. We have special music we play that signals to them which movement to do: walk, run, march, skip, or gallop. They love this activity because it invites them to challenge themselves to master these movements in a very precise way.

Children have been interested in working with puzzle maps this week. Several are learning the continents. Others are learning names of North American countries and various states in the U.S.

Today we had our first banquet lunch of the school year. We pushed together tables and had lunch as a group. The children enjoyed fun conversations about their weekend plans and the names of their pets while practicing their best manners.

One of my favorite things about the fall season is the wonderful variety of apples that become available. Next week, we are planning to begin having apple tastings. We will have an apple that I will cut into enough pieces for everyone to have a taste. Your child is welcome to bring a favorite variety for us to try. They can bring the whole apple, and we will slice it in a gathering with the children.

Dates to Remember:

Sept 25: First day of after-school enrichment classes

Oct. 9: No school: Indigenous People's Day

Oct.23: No school: Conference Day

Have a lovely weekend!

Sincerely,

Kate and Laura
