Juniper Weekly Newsletter 10/27/23

I want to start off with thanking each of you who has met with me to discuss your child's growth and development in Juniper class. It was a joy to observe you all and how much of your very own personality is living in our community through your child. Children entered the community this week with more drive to apply themselves to challenging goals and to embrace that they indeed can do hard stuff. Many of our parents shared similar sentiments about life at home and the shared desire to have more support to utilize at home to help bridge home and school. Setting the standard at home of embracing challenges and discussing personal growth and how wonderful it feels to celebrate meeting personal growths with your child is a wonderful start! If we can share the positive language around facing "hard things" then we see less of the avoidance of these challenges in class.

I am grateful for the Martinez family who donated a set of OT (occupational therapy) putty to use in class. Many friends worked with this for 3 minutes before starting handwriting and it made a HUGE impact and difference. :) I suggest getting a box for home and building those fine motor skills for handwriting and it works well for those younger siblings coming up to Elementary! Handwriting Without Tears offers amazing handwriting support that our parents who are utilizing this at home were impressed with! Link was in a past few Friday emails!

International Festival projects are well underway and the children are busy and working hard to pull off our cultural representation! We appreciate all of the donated supplies to make this happen! The large Leaning Tower of Pisa, Mt. Vesuvius, gelato and pasta models are going strong! Happy Friday to you all!

Calendar:

Nov. 4th - International Festival, 10am to 12noon
Nov. 17th - Enrichments End
Nov. 20-24th - No School

Sincerely,

Veronica and Sarah
