Happy Friday! Help us welcome our new friend, Ella, to the community! It was great meeting with so many of you on conference day. This truly is a collaborative effort and I appreciate everyone taking the time to come and discuss your child's progress. I realize you have a lot of trust having your child here and I enjoy hearing your perspectives from home. I'd like to share a sweet story from this past week. We have a newer child that was having a rough morning. He was crying and having difficulty catching his breath. He was sitting beside me holding my hand. One of our older children came by and put something in the child's lap. It was a drawing of a rainbow. No one asked the older child to do this, it came from his heart. Several minutes later, another child approached and asked if she could speak to the upset child. She placed her hand gently on his shoulder and explained that she had been sad one day at school and that taking deep breaths helped her a lot. These acts of genuine care brought me to tears. It was a beautiful experience to witness.

The children are getting excited about our International Festival. They have started preparing items to share at our table representing Mexico. It looks like we are in for a big weather change next week so please send appropriate clothing.
