Dear Lilac Families,

The children have been practicing the sounds of the letters while replicating the sounds of the beginning, middle, and end of a word. We usually begin sounding the beginning of the words and progressively we move to the sounds at the end and middle of a word. Children love to join this group lesson. It is brilliant to observe how accurately they are developing their phonetic awareness. Practicing the sounds of the letters is part of our daily routine as well as tracing the Sandpaper Letters or graphic symbols that match the sound of the letters. At home you might play, “I Spy” with your children while trying to find something that begins with “mmmmmm, like mop”. Sometimes we include a couple of phonograms like “sh” and the children immediately bring the phonogram from the box that matches the sound. The children really enjoy this lesson and all of them love to be active participants in this gathering.

We are sending Sara the warmest congratulations on the arrival of sweet baby Aurora! We are wishing her the happiest time with her family and her new little one!

Reminders:

Have a peaceful weekend,
Vanessa
