Dear Lilac families, 

It has been a busy and joyful week in our classroom. Our new friends are getting familiarized with our daily routine and work rhythm. We are continuing to practice our preliminary lessons in our morning gatherings. This week we are learning how to find a work space, how to unroll a floor mat as we begin our work, and how to orderly return materials to the shelves and floor mats to the basket in order to finish our work. Practicing these lessons help the children follow a work sequence as well as learn how to be considerate with their classmates and our Montessori classroom. A popular group activity this week has been walking on the blue ellipse while feeling the rhythm of the music as the children walk gracefully, march ceremoniously, and skip and hop. They are always so happy to walk on the line. 

Many thanks to Jessica, Julian’s mom for our new tablecloth. The snack table looks lovely and the children are enjoying the new colors of our snack corner. Thanks for all the flower contributions as well!
