Dear Families,
This week has been all about counting numbers. The younger children have been working with the number rods while associating the quantity and the graphic symbol of a number. The children enjoy counting the compartments of the number rods while finding the corresponding number cards. The older children have been using the bead cabinet material to skip count while using the chain of 8 since that’s their favorite chain to count. Organizing the small tickets and placing them at the end of each bead bar is quite a task. They are enthusiastically working and collaborating together while developing a strong mathematical mind and a love for mathematics. In our gatherings, we are always counting and learning the sequence of the numbers. This week we included learning to count from 1 to 10 in Spanish as well.
